Skype Ukulele Lessons

Welcome to Ukulele Lessons Online via Skype, Google Hangouts or Yahoo Messenger. My name is Duane Frybarger and I am a teacher of ukulele. I would love to help you learn how to play this awesome instrument. I want you to enjoy making music with the ukulele because the uke is one of the easiest instruments to learn and you don't need to know how to read music or understand music theory to sound great. You can learn to play the basic chords to your favorite tunes in a few lessons. Or I can show you how to play complete solo arrangements, such as Beatles tunes, jazz standards, Brazilian bossa novas or whatever style you're into. The uke can do it all and you can take it any where. And most of all, it's fun! You can't pick up an uke without smiling.

My experience in music covers more than fifty years of performing piano (everything from private parties to concerts and live radio), many decades of composing (including two self-produced CDs that received extensive airplay) and many years of playing guitar and more recently, ukulele. Many ukulele teachers are really guitar players and teachers that view the ukulele as a poor step child of the guitar and learning the uke as a step to learning guitar. Although I enjoy playing guitar, I spend nearly all my time playing and teaching the ukulele. I love the uke for its sound, its simplicity, its charm and its ability to be a complete, sophisticated instrument all on its own. My extensive experience in composing and arranging mean that I have an understanding of harmony and theory that can help you find your own path to understanding what are really very simple concepts.

The fee for lessons is just $50 per hour using Skype, Google Hangouts or Yahoo Messenger and the first lesson is free. Discounts are available if you buy a package of four lessons prepaid in advance. I am a life-long musician and am now semi-retired. I love music, helping others and sharing what I know and I want to make lessons available to as many as possible which is why I choose to have rates lower than market. If you are seeking help with any aspect of playing the ukulele, please contact me and we can discuss your needs to see if we might be a good fit.
